In the Faith Builders Sunday School class we check our opinions at the door; yea, let God be true, but every man a liar (Rom. 3:4). We do not place the ideas of men above or on equal footing with the word of God (KJV). We recognize that every thought, every feeling, every lesson, every book, everything we see, hear and feel must be viewed in the light of God’s word. The AV 1611 is our standard. Each Sunday we open that old Book and anxiously anticipate what the Lord will set before us to feast upon. We don’t fret over what the “scholars” may say about the Bible we hold in our hands. They can criticize, cut out, and throw away the pieces they don’t like; they can “season” it with their worldly wisdom and “better renderings.” But we will open our mouths wide to be filled with the pure, inerrant, preserved word of God. With satisfaction we can say, “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” |
